Days out for February half-term

I hope you are looking forward to the February half-term break.  There are lots of events loaded onto the website ready for you to take a look at.  There are some great outdoor trails taking place during the half-term break, as well as indoor activities.  I have highlighted some that stand out for me below.
Don't forget you can select event ideas to fit particular themes you're interested in - for example - Science or Arts & Crafts, or search by date and age group.

Day of celebration at the Horniman
The Horniman is a fantastic free to access Museum in South London with a diverse collection that makes it an interesting destination in its own right!  On Wednesday 20th February they have a day of celebration called 'Museum Alive'.
There are a range of 8 events and activities which start at 11am, and include making an owl mask, and an introduction to the Animal Walk, and on opportunity to meet some of their inhabitants.
Family Fun day at the Courtauld Gallery
Join the East Wing X team at Somerset House's Courtauld Art Gallery for an exciting day of free activities designed for children up to 12 years of age - Sunday 17th February.  
A trail around the exhibition will last about an hour, and will give you an opportunity to explore different ways artists use their materials.   There are also lots of craft activities to keep the children involved and entertained.   Pre-booking required.
Slime Show in Bracknell
The Look Out Discovery Centre is holding a half-term event where you can find out why slugs and snails are so slimy!  There are 4 shows daily for children aged 3+.  The cost for the show is £1.85 on top of the entrance fee for the Discovery Centre which is £18.30 for a family ticket.
Luminaria Event at Woburn Abbey
Woburn Abbey Gardens is holding its first-ever Luminaria event Saturday 16th February, starting 5pm.    There will be ice sculptors at work, as well as other illuminated features to admire.
The cost per child is £3.50 and £8 for adults.  The activities are all outdoors, so dress up warm!
Imagine children's festival - BOOK NOW
Don't forget to book your place at the Southbank's literary festival 11 - 24th February.  The festival provides a unique opportunity for your children to hear popular authors talk about their latest projects. The tickets go quickly so book now - Children £4, Adults £8.
