Happy holidays.  Sarah

Fun on the Foreshore 19th & 20th July
This weekend is 'fun on the foreshore' at the Tower of London with 2 days of free activities from 11am to 4pm, 19th & 20th July.  Also, a rare opportunity to visit Tower Beach.   Activities and games include making a mosaic and dressing-up as a Roman Londoner.

Greenwich World Cultural Festival 20th July
For some culture this Sunday 20th July, Eltham Palace, London is the destination for the free Greenwich World Cultural Festival.  On offer will be dance, theatre, music, art and circus acts from around the globe.  The activities are all free starting at 12.30pm and finishing at 4.30pm.

Free event for cycling fans until 27th July
Sky Studios located at The O2 have a great free activity running until 27th July with a cycling simulator, an opportunity to try out presenting the sports headlines - and sign up for the Sky Ride.
Continuing the cycling theme, the New Forest National Park Authority have produced a video promoting cycling in the New Forest showing how easy it is to hire a bike and access the forest tracks.    There are some great shallow rivers in the New Forest which are perfect for paddling and picnics on the banks.

Free Festival and Carnival at the end of July
The Great British Carnival, held at the Olympic Park is 27th July.  There will be pop up parades throughout the day with a 'Carnival of the Animals' the climax at the end of the day.
Something more 'hands on' is the Archikids Festival 26th & 27th July which gives children the chance to explore iconic buildings across the City of London.  All the activities are free but pre-booking is required for the activity at the Gherkin where children get to design a Geodesic Dome (Wikipedia has a good explanation what this is!)
