Sir John Soane's Museum

Day out location essentials

The Sir John Soane's Museum was established by the renowned architect and collector who died in 1815.  Soane designed this house to live in, but also as a setting for his antiquities and works of art.   The Museum is renowned for its Egyptian, Greek and Roman collection of treasures, as well as artworks from Hogarth.

There are short activities at the Museum for children and families as well as a Junior Audio tour of the museum. Activities take place in the Education Room in the Museum. Learn a basic skill such as paper marbling or explore treasures such as Hogarth's paintings. Children must be accompanied by an adult.  No need to book. Timings 1 to 4pm.  Every school holiday except December.
