Note: The museum will be closed for refurbishment from April 10th 2012 until December 2012.  Number 48 Doughty Street was an important place in the Charles Dickens's life where he lived from 1837 until 1839. He described it as 'my house in town'. Some of his best-loved novels were written here, including Oliver Twist and Nicholas Nickleby. The Museum was opened in 1925 and has become the world's finest Dickens-related collection.

Monday-Sunday: 10am-5pm (Last admission: 4.30pm)The Charles Dickens Museum will be open every day this year until April 9th 2012 when we close for refurbishment.
